What Defines You? {live for Him rather than yourself}

Is it the brands you wear?

The car in your driveway?

Your reflection in the mirror?

The trips you take?

The awards you won?

Your relationship status?

The title in front of your name?

The numbers on the scale?

The number of Instagram likes you receive?

One day the answer to these questions will not matter. These are earthly pleasures that are not always God filled. We should replace these selfish questions with: How many people I have the chance to clothe? Can I deepen my relationship with God? How many people can I drive to church? Does my image shine for Christ?

What is it that defines you? What are you living for?

Temporary things that will not matter or God’s eternal kingdom?

Matthew 6:19 “Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: 20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: 21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.”

How are we supposed to store our treasures in Heaven while we are still on Earth?

Live for God instead of yourself.

Instead of questioning whether something benefits you and your life, ask God if it serves Him.

Choose to live for God’s glory rather than your own significance on Earth.

XOXO,

katie
