Planning for Your Summer
After a long countdown to get through finals, many cups of coffee, and a 6 hour drive home—it is finally summer! This will be the first time in a few years I will not spend my break taking classes. While it is important to take a break and rest, I want to make sure I accomplish a lot before the fall semester begins. I have spent a good portion of my day planning and scheduling to make sure this happens. Here’s my advice for how to do the same:
- Start with plotting out the big things like summer camp, VBS, trips, and holidays on a timeline calendar.
- Set summer goals- make a list of all the things you want to do. Everything from repainting the furniture to a Starbucks date- include it all! A little side note: I like to make my list on paper and cross the items off as they are done rather than just deleting the items off of a document. It is much more fulfilling to see all of the progress.
- Write down the day-to-day activities.
Also, remember to:
- Plan a trip with your family or friends. Make it big and exciting! These are always some of my favorite memories.
- Spend a weekend doing something you LOVE— Camping at the lake, hiking nearby trails, finally visiting those local places you haven’t had time to go, etc.
- Make it the best. summer. ever!
XOXO,
