Let’s Cook!

We had an amazing cooking class in the heart of Rome today. We started by meeting our chefs at the local market to discuss what we wanted to cook and pick up the necessary groceries. From there we went to the deli and bakery to get additional fresh items to go in our lunch.
The kitchen we used was beautiful. It is in the center of Rome overlooking the square of a nearby basilica.
For lunch, our menu was:
Agretti (greens)
Friggitelli (small green peppers)
Rucola and Melon Salad
Pici con Pomarola (hand rolled pasta with tomato sauce)
Saltinbocca alla Romana (meat with basil)
and for dessert, Panna Cotta
My favorite part of the course was learning how to make homemade pasta. While it is incredibly time consuming, I know that I will do it again because I could taste and feel the rich quality and difference in texture. I also really enjoyed the Panna Cotta more than I typically do. The particular recipe we used had the perfect flavor of cream without tasting fake and it was complemented wonderfully with a zesty fruit sauce.
It was such a great experience to cook with our chef Paula at Trustevertastes. This was my first formal cooking class and I thoroughly enjoyed it!
XOXO,
