First Day of Class

This morning we met with our group outside the apartment and walked to school. We will be taking classes at the University of Arkansas’ satellite campus in Rome. The building they own is still in its historic condition and it is incredible!

We had a brief orientation about the building and classrooms before beginning our morning tour. With our guide we walked to the statue of the Fountain of the Four Rivers and then the Pantheon.
I was surprised at how close everything is in relation to each other. We have been able to walk everywhere!
After the tour, we found lunch at a nearby café before returning to school for our first lecture!
The first lecture was presented by a professor of the school specializing in the art and history of Italy. She presented a brief outline of Roman history and the importance of wine in their culture. Something I found interesting were the grapes evident in the many art pieces presented. It truly showed how wine has been an important part of the culture for many years.
Good news! Due to other circumstances, our test has been moved to tomorrow. More time to study! This ended up consuming the rest of my evening. I always feel like there is room to learn the material better so given the opportunity, I always take advantage.
Ciao!
XOXO,
