A Trip to Pompeii & the Amalfi Coast

We had a long journey today from Rome to Pompeii to the Amalfi Coast and then back to Rome. Our morning began very early so we could maximize our time touring these new areas.
We spend two hours at Pompeii exploring and learning about the history of this ancient city. We had a great tour guide who was very helpful and informative in explaining the culture and the meaning behind the different artifacts discovered so far.
After our tour at Pompeii, we headed towards the Amalfi coast.
Something very unique to the Amalfi coast area are the lemons that grow here. They are much larger than any lemon I have ever seen. Probably the size of watermelons. We saw many stands selling these on the winding road to the beach. Apparently the majority of the inside is just white pulp. We were told the lemons make a wonderful lemon curd.
Once we made it to the town, we walked to the beach to enjoy feeling the cool refreshing water.
The town and beach were very beautiful! The Amalfi Coast has definitely become a tour destination and vacation place for many.
