Back to Reality // Only in Monaco
The end of the semester is always an incredibly busy time due to final projects and exams (thank you Lord for the copious amounts of coffee I consumed). During this intensive period, I had the opportunity to travel to Monaco and have dinner with Prince Albert.
Yes, I flew to Monaco with my mom and sister for 4 days during finals week.
Each night that we where there, there was an important gala dinner or cocktail party to attend. In addition to Prince Albert, there were many well known figures in the business world in attendance such as Stuart Weitzman and Bill Gross. Wow, what an opportunity to network!
During the day, we had free time to explore the city study for finals. One afternoon we made time to see the palace and the streets in Monaco. I mean when else would we have this opportunity again?!?
There were some very incredible parties at night but the whole reason we went to Monaco was to see this:
This piece of paper is a stamp called the British Guiana 1c Magenta. It last sold to Stuart Weitzman for about 10 million. It is the most famous rare stamp in the world. The stamp even had its own body guard!
Essentially we were flown to the MonoPhil where this stamp was on display to see it in person and represent youth philatelists. Stamps are cool y’all!
Our time in Monaco was incredible and I would definitely do it again. Thankfully I know it would not be during finals week again (at least for me).
Our return flights were all delayed- this left us with no choice but to RUN through the airports after landing to reach our connecting flights. We were those people. In London, Jenny didn’t even have time to put her boots on but we still hauled across that airport. We both made it home for our finals the same day. This was definitely a finals week for the books!
XOXO,
